*Walks in…Dusts off cobwebs and kicks tumbleweeds…*<\/p>\n

\nHey all! It’s been a minute since I’ve taken the time (and been in the right frame of mind) to walk the burning sands of HBCU bandom, to the oasis of View From The Sidelines to record my thoughts. Life has had a brotha’ pretty caught up. Well…Most of the storm front has passed through, and I’m cleaning up the debris from the yard. Most importantly, I’m back mane!<\/p>\n

For everybody that’s been a fan and supporter of VFTS over the years, THANK YOU! This blog has brought a great deal of joy to THIS band-head’s day-to-day life, so I figured that it’s time to REALLY get back into the swing of things…y’know…for the culture…\ud83d\ude0f<\/p>\n

\nBefore I go any further, I just wanna clarify a few things; First, the show-band landscape outside of the envelope of HBCU’s is great. Many quality programs with their own traditions and their own flavor as it pertains to the halftime experience. This blog will ALWAYS show love and respect to those programs. Game recognize game, so the mutual respect for each other is there.<\/p>\n

Ok…Now that being said, this bracket is…hmmm…How can I put this nicely? Vanilla? Plain? Bereft of flavor? Yeah…That kinda covers it. Now I’m not saying that there aren’t any heavyweights in there, but it’s kinda hard to really get into a concept like this when WE aren’t represented. That being said, I took the liberty of doing one ALL-INCLUSIVE BOTB bracket…again…y’know…for the culture… LOL<\/p>\n
